We Chose a Simpler Life

A while ago, Bert and I made a decision—it was time to slow down, relax, and truly enjoy life.

We had spent years in our home, surrounded by the things that come with a full life… but something in us was ready for a change. Not a big, dramatic change—but a quieter one, a more intentional one.

So, we decided to downsize.

We sold our home and moved into a sweet little apartment next to our granddaughters.

And just like that, life began to look a little different.

These days are filled with the kind of moments that are easy to overlook, but mean everything.

Morning coffee with the Disney Channel playing in the background, little voices and giggles nearby, time with family everyday.

There’s more space for what matters—even though we have less space overall.

We’ve found that peace of mind matters more than extra rooms.

There’s time now…

Time for the lake.

Time for Morty.

Time to sit, to breathe, and to just be.

This isn’t about having less just for the sake of it.

It’s about making room for a different kind of life.

A simpler one. A quieter one. One that feels a little more like home in a new way.

I’m still learning what that looks like day by day.

But for now, I know this:

We didn’t just downsize our home…we simplified our life.

I’ll be sharing more about our simple life here—what we’re learning, what’s working, and what still feels like a work in progress. Hugs, Cara

What a heartwarming update! It’s wonderful to hear you’re prioritizing family, peace, and simple joys. Downsizing can bring such freedom and clarity. I also love that you’re still sharing your creativity through simple SVGs. By the way, for those cozy self-care moments while crafting or relaxing, I’ve been enjoying the Rich Body Cream Mini Tetra—perfect for keeping skin soft and nourished.

What a lovely new chapter you're stepping into—simplifying life can be incredibly freeing. Spending more time with loved ones, especially grandkids, is priceless. Much like custom made kitchen islands  that bring people together in the heart of the home, it’s those small comforts and intentional choices that create lasting joy.

Downsizing for more family time sounds like a wonderful move, and it’s great to hear you’ll still be sharing your creativity with paper crafters. In a similar way, a certified aircraft technician Florida ensures that families flying for vacations or reunions can travel safely and reliably. It’s all about focusing on what matters most.

What a beautiful new chapter you're stepping into—downsizing near loved ones is such a meaningful move. As someone who’s recently been exploring Wenatchee home builders, I’ve seen how creating a cozier, more intentional space can bring true peace of mind. Wishing you joy, creativity, and lots of Disney Channel moments with your granddaughters.
