All About Cruising with Cara

I have had lots of questions about my cruises so I thought I would talk about Cruisin with me!!! My very first cruise ever was teaching on a scrapbook cruise! I was hooked and decided cruising was truly the first vacation I had ever been on that I absolutely did not have to think ... at all. Everything was completely taken care of for me from my food to my fun. It was all there. I have cruised with my family every year since that first one. I have taught on several cruises for the past few years and decided it was time to "just do it" and put together my own cruise ...oh and of course it was all about the Cricut too. So on to the questions: 1.) One that comes up is usually about bringing your Cricut on a cruise ship. I have to fly to the ports as there are not a whole lot of ocean in the Berkshire Mountains of Massachusetts. I pack my Expression in my suitcase..wrapped in bubble wrap and surrounded with shorts and flip flops. Some of my cruisers used rolling totes and carried their Cricut on both their flights and the cruise ship. I have to say the easiest way to travel...grab a baby bug (the Original smaller Cricut) and a Gypsy, you could carry both and that would be all you need! 2.) Do you need to bring all your scrapbook supplies? You will need a small kit of supplies (adhesive, scissors, cutting mat, trimmer, inks) to complete the projects. I will provide you with class kits that take care of everything else you will need. Some folks want to scrapbook beyond the class projects and want to bring more with them. The cruise ship does not care how much you bring on and you will access to our scrapbook room throughout the cruise so it is up to you. My suggestion is to pre kit what you would like to work on so you can bring just what you need. 3.) How does the schedule work? I make sure that I set up our class schedule so that you can enjoy all the fun the cruise has to offer. You will be able to enjoy our days in port and we all eat amazing meals together. You will have free time to enjoy the ship and your Cricut too! I have two cruises planned this year..a short but sweet weekend in August from Miami to the Bahamas and a week long Fall Foliage trip out of Boston in October. I would love to cruise with you! Happy National Scrapbook Day

I almost missed this day...things are a bit crazy here but those of you that know me will not be surprised.  Life is never dull in Cara land!  The good news... last night we celebrated my daughter Sara's pinning ceremony as she earned her RN degree.  It was amazing and a fitting conclusion to all her work.  I was honored to be asked to be her "pinner" 

My daughter Kate and I put together a fantastic celebration dinner at Kate's with lots of great food and terrific family time!  I am so blessed! 

This week saw the begiining of my first Imagine Class at My Creative Classroom.  Yes, my repaired Imagine returned from its stay in the Provo Craft Infirmary!  It does print AND CUT now and all is well.  I have fallen in love with this giant of a Cricut.  I did not think I would and hoped I could get through the class without letting on how I really felt but it has won me over.  I do love my Imagine!  I am working on my Whisper for the Imagine too.  It will be ready for sale by June 1st. 

To add to my craziness... I had a hard drive crash on Sunday night.  My laptop is my right arm and with my always.  My entire classroom, my Whispers (both product and customer orders) are on this now dead laptop.  But because it is so important to me, I have an online backup system that works direlessly in the background making sure everything is saved.  I was at the computer counter first thing Monday morning.  A little computer salesman guy  was all ready to try to sell me something.  I explained I knew what I wanted, just go out back and get the one I pointed to.  But what do you use it for he asked.  My Life!  I know what I want and I am all set...no I don't need anything else just get me what I want and save the sales pitch.  I was in and out in 10 minutes.  Quickly set things up and told the online back up to RESTORE.  It thought for a minute or two and then the screen said sure!  We will do this and we expect it will take .... A FEW DAYS.  That is computer language?!  A few days?  I need it NOW.  Nope...I had to learn patience as it is still not exactly all there yet!  Found all my classes and my Whisper files and my customers so I am getting there.  My email isn't exactly perfect yet either but almost!  It could be worse LOL

Oh, by the way, did you see the great Cruise I added this summer?  It is a terrific 3 day our of Miami going to the Bahamas.  If you do the math, it is less than a weekend crop event ...and hey we are on a Cruise Ship!  I made sure it was before school starts on a weekend too!  August 19-22 going to Nassau and Coco Cay with plenty of Cricut in between!  It is a short but sweet trip and a perfect getaway.  Head over to Cruise n Crop and check out all the details.
