Working on Wordbooks

I have been finishing up my samples of Wordbooks...wait til you see the one with the chalkboard paint! Yes, kit comes with your own little container of this cool paint. I have to tell you ... I am re working my web site and fighting with the shipping charges...so far the web site is winning! I do not want to charge you for every wordbook that you order ...it wants to! So if you place an order and think the shipping seems a bit high...know I am the one actually charging your credit card (not some big customer service department !) If you are using paypal, you can ask me for a total before you send a payment. I hope to get this ironed out in the next day or two...the computer dudes are "lookin at it" ya... I will be adding photos later tonight...if I can beat this cold that has arrived in my head and my chest. This could be why I am having such a hard time with the details...a bit foggy tonight. I came home from work early tonight and have my jammies and my warm fuzzy robe ... my husband arrived home with a box of kleenex, cough drops, some crazy all natural cold pill thing and santizing wipes! How romantic huh?

Two posts in one day! But I have been wanting to tell you this for a week or two but I needed to get the details ironed out. The members of "Are You Board" have seen first hand what I am talking about. I have offered some challenging and unique books as monthly kits and I love the brand new custom books I am able to offer. So here is the plan....there will be two choices each month! (oh my gosh...I have to choose?!) You can choose the traditional Are You Board kit that will offer a 5x5 board book themed kit and two blank books orrrrr Are You REALLY Board kit which will feature a custom book designed and created just for my club members and a custom wordbook! This kit will include paints and inks, hybrid chipboard and acrylic albums designed and created just for us. These designs are only available here...no one else will have them. I am so excited to be able to offer these unique kits and this premier product launches. Because there are lumpier items in these kits (paints and inks etc) they will have to ship in the Flate Rate Box rather than the envelope that the traditional Are You Board? will fit in. I will continue to post the details of each kit on the 1st of the month and both Are You Board and Are you REALLY Board will ship on the 15th of the month. What if I want BOTH kits? You will be able to save on the shipping...I will include them both in the Priority Flat Rate Box. Remember the shipping on the traditional kit is 4.60 (until the post office increases the rates in May) and the flate rate BOX is 8.95. If you order both you will only pay the 8.95 shipping. Are you glad I shared all the crazy shipping details?!! The least favorite part of my kit club! So let me know what you think... what kinds of things would you like to see? the REALLY board kits are where you will see the funky stuff! Returned from my trip to the Winter Wonderland

I thought I was travelling to New Hampshire but it turned out to be a trip to a winter wonderland! A weatherman's promise of the snow staying mostly to the south and starting around noon... all false! We pushed the start time back an hour earlier thinking we could beat the snow as we were travelling north and so I thought out of the snow. Weellll that was not the case! Snow was falling as we loaded the car and we apparently brought it with us as we drove the entire way in a snow storm! Snow storms stop me from reaching a scrapbook event... bah... never fear... we made it through!! We arrived at the Kiss Scrapbook Show at the Radisson in Manchester NH. Sleep number beds are awesome! Oh ya... the show was terrific too :) Sarah and Kim had the vendor faire set up in the elegant ballroom and the staff was terrific. As I told you in an earlier post we were trying to offer something a bit different at this event. I was planning to teach mini classes in the booth instead of in a classroom. As it turned out most people wanted to complete the entire project rather than just a section. Folks would purchase the kit that they wanted to work on, pulled up a seat and we did the kit together with their friends. Some folks actually stayed till they finished the entire kit while others just wanted a hint or two and went off their own. It was really fun! Small and intimate events are so relaxing! I brought my Mom and she was able to see what this crazy scrapbook world is all about. She could not get over how much stuff everyone brought and was shocked to learn that these crazy ladies might actually stay up til the wee hours of the morning cropping and eating and singing and.. well you know! It was fun to share this with her. We drove home last night and it was just as great to sleep in my own bed. Wait til you see some of the wordbook samples I will post later. Hugs, Cara

February Kits shipped...wanna see what is coming?!

This is the February kit "Love Book" but remember ... there is more! Instead of 2 blank board books this month, you will be receiving the LOVE wordbook kit. I hope you ordered this one! February is a special month for me ...yes Valentines Day but also my wedding anniversary... and that is tomorrow. I have been married to my Senior Prom date for 31 years...tomorrow. More about those WORDBOOKS

Aren't they too cool?! I just love them! And I am sure others will offer wordbooks in different styles and sizes. I thought I should share a bit about WHY I choose the 4" high wordbook as my favorite product of 2008 ...so far! Why do I offer a 4" Wordbook as my standard?

Well a 4" book is perfect for showcasing my 4x6 photos (I can usually fit at least 4 full size photos, depending on how many letters in my book) and trim the photos to feature the important parts on the rest of the letters!

The book is not flimsy. The size stays good and sturdy once covered with my papers and opictures. Sometimes the taller books, 5 inches or more, have bending pages and the book tends to curl...not mine!

If you are cutting your own papers 4" strips fit your letters perfectly too! There is less waste and much less trimming and cutting.

I promised you photos... wait til you see this one. Not only is this a brand new word book designed and cut just for us... Time Flies is launching a brand new line of papers NEXT WEEK at CHA ( you probably heard the buzz about this fun show for stores only ....all the manufacturers gather to show off their latest and greatest and your scraopbook stores get to order brand new product for 2008) Well...before they fly off to LA, Lynn and Jessica from Time Flies shipped off my papers just for you! I was able to play yesterday! Here is MEOW featuring brand new Whirls and Swirls.

February first means...

It was yesterday! And it means I need to tell you what the February Are You Board kit is going to include! One of my 2008 resolutions...make each month's kit unique! I decided that I wanted to offer something new and unique each month. This is my personal challenge! Well, I have been able to keep my resolution with February's kit! It is so much more than a 5x5 board book! Because it is February...my thirty first wedding anniversary is February 19th! and of course Cupid arrives on the 14th... Love is in the air.. and our kit! The book is custom cut ...just for us!..the only place you will find this. February's book combines acrylic covers with chipboard tabbed pages...the tabs spell out LOVE with teeny cut out hearts splashed in for good measure! It is amazing! There are 8 chipboard pages which means lots of photos! and the acrylic covers. Precut papers will be included of course and many acrylic tips and techniques. Ribbons, quotes and stamps and bling oh my! ...when these books are gone...they are gone. I will be sure to offer you plenty of ideas and photos in your instruction sheets. As I did this month, I will post multiple pictures here after the kit is shipped so that the lucky club members can see the way I finished my book. I hope you will send me some photos of your finished books too!
